KRMit Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 (edited) I have the old black steel bars and am wanting some aluminum ones to match the aluminum parts I'm putting on. I was looking at the newer stock bars because they look aluminum and don't have a crossbar. 1. Are they actually aluminum? 2. Are they polished aluminum? 3. Do they bend real easy? Thanks for the answers. Sorry for asking, but no one I know has em. I was looking at these. Edited September 27, 2004 by KRMit Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 they are steel..probably bend easier than the old style since they have to crossbar. just get some renthals or even better some 1 1/8 bars Quote
racer Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 ive got an MSR chrome bar that was like $40. cheap and shiney, perfect. may not be as strong as a pro-taper but it was 1/3 the price. Quote
ranshee Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 Save your money and get some pro tapers and a new adapter from Cotton eyed joe (Stan). Your stockers will prolly bend after one roll like mine did. Quote
KRMit Posted September 28, 2004 Author Report Posted September 28, 2004 Steel... Rocky Mountain sells some Tusk aluminum bars for about $21. I'll go for those and maybe just take the padding off. I love the look of my new clamp so the Tapers aren't really an option. Thanks for the help guys! Quote
ranshee Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 I,m tellin you man, spend the money on a set of good bars. I have also gone the cheap route and thoes bars lasted me about ywo trips till they were bent. Get some tags or renthals. Quote
