I used to have them on my stock Banshee. Then it was upgraded to a 420 Long Rod. I really liked those pipes. The 420 ran the same 1/8th mile times with the PT Hi-Revs and with the CPI inframes.

They are really freaking expensive, like $700 from Duncan for the chromed ones. Their chrome probably is the best out there.

I didn't know that Duncan changed chromers. That is a shame. I haven't bought a set of their pipes since 1999.

But about the performance CPI vs PTR Hi-Revs, believe what you want. I owned them both, have you? I'm trying to help by telling my personal experiences. Both pipes ran the same times on my 420 Banshee 1/8th mile asphalt and 300ft sand.

I've got CPIs on my new bike. Why? Because I have had good luck with them and they made more power on the dyno than "Brand X" did. Of course, when I called and told "Brand X" that, they didn't think that sounded right either.

Why would I lie about the performance? I don't have anything to gain. He asked if the pipes are good, and hell yeah I think they are good pipes. I'm not trying to start something here, but I don't necessarily like when someone thinks I'm full of crap.

Girls?! Feel again. :whoa:

:rotflmao: Great info, I love my ptr mids and always wondered how the hi revs did. I've heard they pull like the old T5's.....so they pulled just as hard in the 1/8th and 300' drags....Thanks for the info...

Hey Banchetta, I just bought ptr mids and want to know what mains, pilots, and needle setting you used. I bought them from a local dealer and did what they said to do. I went to 290 mains,30 pilots and moved the needle clip all the way up. It ran like crap. It bogged so much. So I put the stock pilots back in and messed with the needle and it still wouldn't run. banghead . Im thinking the mains have to be smaller. But what did you do. I also have a Pro Flow w/ Pro design filter. When I was testing it, I ran it w/ nothing on the carbs. What do I do. Thanx.

I'm running 300 mains, needle all the way up (5th clip from the blunt end), stock pilots, air screws .5 turn out...this is at sea level, k&n, no air box lid or cut the end of the lid off (1.5" right behind the clips so you still have all 4 clips) make sure you don't over oil your filter and sync your carbs....you should have NNNOOOOOO bogs at all w/ these pipes..if you do, then list ALL your mods, elevation, temp, etc...gearing, tires, tire size...
