Banshee17Racing Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 When I was taking the stock carbs off, with all the T.O.R.S crap, I started snipping wires...and I think I should have been a little more patient doing it. I need to know what I have to keep on and what I don't need anymore. I took off the two grey plugs that go to the plugs on the carbs. I took the control box for the T.O.R.S. off along with the plugs that go to it. And I also unplugged the wires that go to the thumb throttle...and I'm not too sure if I should have done that. But, what really bothers me is seeing two wires with no connection still on the quad...one is Black, the other one is green/yellow(2000 Banshee if it matters). Now, obviously..I dont know what the hell I did. I put everything back together and shee won't start. I played with the air screw, and started with a 182 main and a 55 slow jet. So now that I've taken all of the wiring off, I dont know if my problem is jetting or electrical. I NEED YOU'RE HELP!! If none of this makes sense...Ill try to rewrite it. Josh Quote
itsmyforte Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 you will have to either repair the wires, or buy a TORS removal kit from vito's(thats what i would do). problem solved forever. Quote
DIRTBIKEZ Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 Try this http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/elecfaq.html. Quote
BenBB Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 Sounds like you took out the right stuff (connectors to carb tops, connector to control box, yes just disconnect the thumb throttle and e-brake perch switch). Don't remember offhand what yellow/green goes to hmmm (e-brake switch?) but anyway, I'd do a quick spark test and find out for sure (might try it with fresh plugs just in case) if it's electrical or jetting, I'm guessing the latter because it doesn't sound like you cut anything critical for it to run. Good luck. Quote
Banshee17Racing Posted September 4, 2004 Author Report Posted September 4, 2004 Thanks for the replies and help. I played around with the jetting a little bit more with no luck. I tried pull starting it with a truck...with no luck. So now I really think it's electrical. The engine was turning over, but never fired, and if the truck slowed down...the engine would slow down. It sounds like it sucking air really bad, that's why I now think it's electrical...because I have fuel, and plenty of air. I went through all the plugs I cut off again, I still don't have any clue what one of them is from. It has a Black and a green/yellow wire, the same color wires that are dead ends on the quad. The thing that's really starting to get to me is..I don't know where that plug goes , in other words...where the other end of the plug is. I'm getting desperate for any ideas of what this plug is to....and what to do with it. Thanks, Josh Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 Black is usually ground, no ground no spark. green/yellow I think is for the parking switch 98 and newer. Quote
