ok a couple quickies, does anyone know the size of the 2 jam nuts on the left side of the rear axle?

second, the assembly that the rear sprocket bolts too has a slight amount of play. will re-tightening the 2 jam nuts fix this problem?

third, my chain is in need of some adjusting, needs tightening. the adjuster bolts on the bottom are almost all the way in already. is it time for a new chain? or can i get away with taking out a link on the current one?

sorry to lump everything into one post, just easier to trak and less room if their in one place.

thanks in advance for any info you guys can provide.

Don't remember, 21mm is springing to mind, but then 1 3/4" also does, don't remember exactly. A pipe wrench will work fine, just remember you have heat them up if they've never been removed due to the factory loctite. An air hammer is always a good second choice.

That should tighten it. I've never seen one come loose that's never been taken off. If it's been removed before, than I could see it loosening and giving you some play in there.

How old is the chain? If it's an old chain, then it's probably stretched all the way and it's time for a new chain. Thing is, if it's old and working, then you get a new one, it's gonna be a lot tighter and your sprockets won't line up perfectly because they've grooved to your old chain. It's very bad to run an old stretched out chain that's ready to give in, it's almost as bad to run a new chain on the sprockets that old chain was on. So, when you go to buy your new chain, get new sprockets as well. You can get the cheapies for liek $14 from Rocky Mountain ATV and they'll last as long as any.

50mm, took them off a couple of weeks ago putting on new Lonestar Axle, and had to borrow a Truck Size Shifter to get them off.
