sheeweet Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 I had a 13 tooth sprocket to replace the stock 14 tooth one. I got it from Rocky Mountain ATV and the catolog said it would work with the stock 104 link chain. I installed it and after adjusting the chain, using all the adjustment, it was way too loose. The chain is not stretched either. So I had to put the 14 toother back on. So do I need to go with a larger rear sprocket when going with the 13 tooch front or WTF? Oh Ya, I broke the chain to see if removing two links would solve the issue and it wouldn't stretch far enough to re-pin the links. Quote
ssbanshee Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 with a 13 i took 1 link out and it was good to go Quote
sredish Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 When I tried the 13 toother, she fit fine, same with the 15 I'm running now. Quote
bigboybanshee Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 I took one link out and adjusted her up and had no problems when I went to the 13 tooth. Quote
Yamahammer Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 i did the same and my adjustment is all the way at the end i need to take a lijnk out, but have not yet Quote
sheeweet Posted August 25, 2004 Author Report Posted August 25, 2004 But don't you have to take two links out at a time to rematch male to female, so to speak? Quote
MotulMonsta Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 Mine is fine. I can switch all day long between 12-15 front sprockets without running out of chain adjustment length. I cut my chain to fit tight neutral on a 13 tooth sprocket as that's the middle setup. Quote
J.J. Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 Stock chain, stock rear sprocket, I can run 13,14 & 15 fronts and still adjust it properly. Quote
