Matt96banshee Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 I am wanting to go to silver lake sand dunes in Michigan soon but i keep hearing how strict they are with their noise levels and that you need a spark arrestor and all that other bs. I was just wondering from someone that has been there, is it worth all the hastle and could i get away with running t5 pipes. Anyone with feedback let me know. Thanks Quote
bansha60 Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 Silver Lake is a ton of fun to go to. They are pretty strict, you will need parking lot vouchers on weekends. , day passes/season passes, ORV sticker, a flag, and a spark arrestor. These are all a must have. They do db checks randomly, they usually check the ones that are making alot of noise going into the "check station", thats where they check flag lenght, and spark arrestors. Its worth it though. And with the T5's, you'll get in pretty easy, just keep the noise on the downlow going into the dunes. Quote
420 RACING Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 They are pretty strict about arresters but noise, I am runnin CPI inframes and pass the test at 97db. State law is 95 but they let 98 into the park thank god. I bring a extra set of fmf's just in case. I am goin on Labor day, anyone goin from BHQ? Quote
Matt96banshee Posted August 24, 2004 Author Report Posted August 24, 2004 so how much does it cost to get into the park and to get the orv sticker? I ordered my spark arrestors today. thanks matt Quote
bansha60 Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 The ORV is $16.75, and each day pass is 8 bucks, includes every vehicle that goes into the park, truck included . If you have 8 quads on a trailer and only 4 of them are going to ride, you still have to have a day pass for each quad. Stupid as hell!. If you never been there, the voucher system can be confusing. be sure to get your voucher a day in advance, they start passing them out at 9:00pm, I'd advise you to be in line at LEAST an hour before 9:00 so that you will have a better chance of getting a voucher. Espically this time of the summer. Ask anyone that didnt get there in time for a voucher and have to stand in line the next morning for stand-by's. ITS NOT FUN Quote
