Alright for the second time today my flywheel has come loose to the point where my bike wont run. I tightened it with a blue medium strength loctite and a 1/2" impact (fyi I tightned the shit out of it). I lightend it a few months ago on a lathe and Im pretty sure its straight but?? I know boon lightens them but now I think I might just put a new one on unless anybodys got any other suggestions. If anybodys got one for sell let me know $$.

You could install it again, and use a dial indicator to check the T.I.R. (total indicator runout). Just take the magnetic base and attach it to the frame, or footpeg. All my modified flywheels will check within .001"

check to see if the flywheel is true still and if it is try a new nut but be sure to look and make sure that the threads on the crank are not messed up cuz with it coming off like that it can happen and if it has messed em up then most likely u gonna need a new crank but i hope it hasnt done that but just check everything over and u should never have to use locktite to keep the flywheel nut on the shaft. i just always put em on with a impact pretty tight and leave em be and have had no problems

My guess is that whatever you used as a center for the flywheel damaged it and it doesn't fit on the crank right. If you didn't use the right puller, you may have warped it but you should have noticed that when you were turning it. Make sure the inside of the flywheel hub and the end of the crank are in perfect condition, if not you can mess up the crank {like I did on my 250R}. And I tried everything to get it to stay on right but I could ride it for a max of an hour and it would come loose.

I dial indicated in to the center hub when I turned it down and it was perfect but when I touched the outside with the cutter it was a little off. Not knowing the accuracy of a stock flywheel I figured I was ok. The flywheel has only been taken off with a puller ever time and never had any trouble getting it off. The threads on the crank are fine and the nut threads a fine. I have always used loctite on my flywheels and never had no trouble with them coming off. I think i might try a lock washer to see if that will keep it on.

Miller stuck mine on real good for bout a couple days and then the crank and the flywheel was no good. So don't take it to Lincoln, Miller, Hobart or any other such places.

How did you hold it in the lathe??? If you didn't machine it properly, it is a paper weight now. As may be the case with your crank.... The keyway may be trashed...... Is the keyway in there properly???
