Welllll, I never said anything about it falling off. :whoa:

I had mine come off once in the dunes.

It wasn't due to hitting the seat, I think it was due to being on my bike all summer and the oil from the filter ran down the intakes and got around the carbs where the filter connects.

It got hot and slipped off after riding for a day.

The lesson I learned was to always clean my filter before every trip and make very sure the mating surfaces are very clean and dry.

Also don't overoil your filter.

i loved my toomey 2:1 air filter setup. i went to bigger carbs and can no longer use it. i swore you could get them for larger carbs to but i was wrong. anyway whatever you do do not use the stock hose clamps. they will screw down all the way and stop clamping. find a good stainless band clamp and use it. if you can't find a skinny enough clamp of that diameter connect about three small ones and it will never fall off.

why not try using some adapter boots for the carbs?

Yes guys,I try moving the filter but it still hits the top of the seat.

I thought I already said this, it is normal for it to hit the seat. My bike and 3 of my buddies all use this air filter. We all have stock carbs and intake boots and all of the filters hit the bottom of the seat. No big deal.
