FireHead Posted August 16, 2004 Report Posted August 16, 2004 Does anyone have any pictures or recommendations for routing a set of aftermarket front brake lines. I bought a nice set of Fastline braided lines, but they are configured much differently than stock. Mostly I'd like to see what people have done with mounting the T-block and how they secured the lines from the frame to calipers. Quote
banshdog Posted August 16, 2004 Report Posted August 16, 2004 Click on the Noss Machine link. They make a billet line holder for aftermarket lines. Click on the "Banshee Parts" for some pics. Quote
FireHead Posted August 16, 2004 Author Report Posted August 16, 2004 (edited) Ok, I got that part figured out. The part I am most concerned with is the mounting just inboard of where those pictures end. As in that is the T-block bolted to and how are the line routed. As far as the zip tie solution goes, they would work just fine, but I am going for something a clean installation versus somethineg slutty looking. Zip ties are only a few steps ahead of duct tape (or ducted ape, if you prefer) as far as I'm concerned. Edited August 16, 2004 by FireHead Quote
. Posted August 16, 2004 Report Posted August 16, 2004 just make sure you run them across the back of the upper a-arm.....its the safest place to have them Quote

However I am afraid it is not as I saw a guy's bike down in Florence this weekend with the front line hose clamped to his steering arms. Which leads me to wonder what train of thought people use to come up with such solutions. I am still curious about the inboard frame routing. Quote
. Posted August 16, 2004 Report Posted August 16, 2004 my top line is to long and I dont have it mounted, the T fitting just sits in there. I've been meaning to ziptie it in there so it doesnt move around as much (dont think it really moves anyway), but havent gotten around to it yet. As far as routing it through the frame, I have it running through where the frame comes to a V up above the upper a-arm, and then run along the back of the upper a-arms. I just use zipties, works for me. I'll get clamps one of these days, but i'm interested in making it faster and stuff before these little things get coin dropped on them. Not to mention the fact that a ghost ripped my one brakeline in half the one day when I was trying to get out of this nature made water runoff trench. There was nothing there to catch the thing on.....but it ripped in half somehow. So now there's this big adaptor piece I had pressed on.....it'll work for now. Quote
