United Pot Smoker Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 will i have to run race gas with 160 psi? has anyone ever had that compression and ran pump gas? i also have +4 advanced timming. does having more compression put a lot of stress on the engine? my crank isnt welded so i dont wanna go messing up the cases. fixitrod Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 I have exactly 160psi and run +4 timing. Pump 93octane works fine. Now, that's with a squish that it to high and will make the pistons cool more. Most people will start to mix 50/50 race and pump fuel around 160psi. Quote
MotulMonsta Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 i've run pump gas w/ 186psi compression Quote
fixitrod Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 i've run pump gas w/ 186psi compression Depends on head design, porting, ect... But I have heard people running in the 180's also but that's with head work and porting. Quote
