Noob Banshee Posted August 1, 2004 Report Posted August 1, 2004 Hello again Well i took off my motor head off my shee and the top of my pistons are pretty damn dirty! and they wobble quite a bit and it looks like a nice size roxk or sand got in there and now i got to rebuild the engine. So my questions is what to do and where to find stuff for the rebuild! I'm never gonna be able to ride this thing!!!!! Quote
MotulMonsta Posted August 1, 2004 Report Posted August 1, 2004 You'll ride it again. Have a local bikeshop bore out your cylinders for you..unless you have the equipment already..don't pay more then 50-60 dollar shop fee per hour..should only take them about 2 hours to bore so your looking at 100-120 dollar bore job..that's a good price..unless you know people that know people. Don't bore the cylinders out until you have the new pistons in hand. That's should be the only thing you have to contract out. Everything else you can do yourself. You should already have a repair manual on hand..if not..bikeshops have them and it'll run you 40 bones. Nextyou gotta check out your rods and crank bearings. If your rods are shot drop down the extra 340 bones and pick up a hotrod crank asy from wiseco..Oh Wiseco is where you should get your pistons at as well, don't buy them from the bike shop..you'll get ripped off..that is unless you know someone. Buy the parts via mail order and out of state so you won't pay a sales tax..but you will pay shipping. Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted August 1, 2004 Report Posted August 1, 2004 if you have a napa around you, the'll bore the cylinders for 40-50 a jug. i assume its on stock bore. if the insides of the jugs look good, not deep scratches, order a .10 weisco piston kit from ebay, www.rockymountainatv.com or www.denniskirk.com good deals you can get that for about 150, like motul said, def get a clymers, off ebay or at ur dealer, there runnin cheaper everyday, prolly 25 at the most in most placesits pretty straight forward, if your heads screwed up, scan here or ebay for anouther stock head replacement, and get it milled by boonman, or get a noss head from dlnoss, both ways you get performance, good luck Quote
