oldturtle Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 I broke the rear mounting tab on fenders where fenders bolt to rear of tank. Has anyone heard of a plastic repair for this type of plastic? I would like to avoid spending $100 for another used fender that I will probably break again anyway. I live in Northern Calif in the event anyone has name of repair shop. Thanks for help. Quote
brock_fuzzy_69 Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 well i know that the flexible bumpers on cars can get patched up with a special 2 part epoxy that same stuff might work wish i had a plastic welder its like a combination of a soldering iron and hair dryer is the only way i know to explain it Quote
ybanshee203 Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 Would JB Weld work? It is a two part epoxy like brock_fuzzy_69 mentioned. Quote
MotulMonsta Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Naa dude, jb weld is brittle. Your best bet would be to zip tie it back together and use larger washers. I had my rear fender crack and It's been zip tied now for 2 years and still holding strong. Quote
mrmatt Posted July 30, 2004 Report Posted July 30, 2004 This is the best glue that I have found for plastic. I have never tried it on ATV fenders, but it may hold up until your next crash. Quote
DirtRider Posted July 30, 2004 Report Posted July 30, 2004 i got a crack in my plastics too and im buying some epoxy and hardener and use that. it will be stronger that the plastic its self and dryes clear. i think my uncle has some, he was just building a boat. expensive kinda though. Quote
. Posted July 30, 2004 Report Posted July 30, 2004 I work for a trash company and they repair the toters with a plastic welder, that would work great if you could get your hands on one Quote
