clutch noise

i serached and searched and didn't come up with much. so his is mty question. i put a new barnett clutch and it's awful noisy. it works fine but is just loud. is the chattering just a sign of my basket wearing out and is it ok to ride it or should i worry about it and park her?

hey guys i got the arrows on my clutch arm and case to line up and my clutch grabs nice but i still got a loud noise comin from the side of my motor. anybody got ne ideas what it might be? or how to quiet it down? BUMP

are there grooves in the clutch basket fingers

You didn't re-use the stock rubber pieces between the plates did you?

i filed what lottle grooves the basket had and nope i did NOT use the rubber spacers. any other ideas guys?

Did you stagger the clutch plates?

Do you have the stock water impeller? I know it sounds like clutch noise after installing the new clutch but I ran into a problem recently with a stock water impeller. I had my cover off polishing it and somewhere along the lines the plastic on the impeller warped. After I put it all back together and took it for a test ride I had this horrible noise coming out from near the clutch. Come to find out the pump plastic was warped and hitting the water pump cover plate. While the clutch cover was off i never even opened up the pump housing so apparently it was just the desert heat or maybe bad luck.

i was just thinking the same thing b4 i logged in. i'm gonna take a look at my pump tomorrowand pull my impeller out. it seems it could be my problem! anybody else have this problem?
