streetshee Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 ok heres the deal,i aint got much money,i tried a port job myself(mild port),but wasnt as successfull as i hoped to be.ive got a pair of good rd 400 rods and was thinking of puttin em in with blaster pistons, but that wont bring anything without makin it a stroker will it? as i understand it i will be puttin 5mm longer rods and 5mm shorter pistons so theoreticly is the same? am i understanding this correct? or can i expect a small performance change??? MotulMonsta Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 Hmmmm...So long as the pistons' stroke doesn't mess up your port dynamics and the ports are completly covered during their cycles I don't see why it wouldn't work. Be shure to check your head clearance before you run the motor. Quote
streetshee Posted July 20, 2004 Author Report Posted July 20, 2004 i know itl work, but is it worth it??????? will it bring anything? Quote
Indubitably Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 Might be a slight torque increase due to the rod angle but it ain't gonna be a ton Quote
streetshee Posted July 20, 2004 Author Report Posted July 20, 2004 so i really should save mepennys and buy a stroker crank! the problem is that by the time its shipped over the pond it costs double to what u guys pay, really pisses me of this customs tax shit Quote
racer Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 Might be a slight torque increase due to the rod angle but it ain't gonna be a ton yeah that and it also reduces wear on your wristpin bearings Quote
