bansheeMD Posted July 16, 2004 Report Posted July 16, 2004 (edited) OK heres the deal...I just got a new swingarm and carrier. Everything is back on and the axle does not spin freely. It feels like there is something dragging. Its just not spinning freely. I cant think of what it could be. The carrier is full of grease, everything is on and is on correctly (I think). What am I doing wrong. This thing has been full of problems since I got it and this was the last thing I had to do to complete the restoration and finally go ride the thing. Please help, I am out of ideas. Mods are as follows: fresh top end Trinity 33mm single carb kit Boysen reeds K&N running with no lid on the airbox AC Propegs Rad Carrier New swingarm Renthal bars Thanks for everything Edited July 16, 2004 by bansheeMD Quote
chase73 Posted July 16, 2004 Report Posted July 16, 2004 you didnt overtighten the axil nuts did you ?????????? there are 2 off them unless you have a aftermarket one . If not they are not supossed to be cranked down super tight you will ruin the new bearings if you do . !!!!! the first will go on snug tight so there is now movement in the axil and then a good half turn then the next one will go up to it and dont turn it so far that it spins the first one !!!! then with another wrench turn the first one back into the other to hold them in place. DONT RIDE THE BIKE WITH THE AXIL OVER TIGHTENED AND NOT MOVING FREELY YOU WILL RUIN THE BEARINGS !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted July 16, 2004 Report Posted July 16, 2004 my gues is either that, the chain is to tight, or the braking system is out of alligment and the pads are rubbing on the rotor Quote
