racer Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 when you split the case is there anything you have to do to put it back together other than what you did to take it apart, oh and the yamabond. what im saying is, is there anything that is critical to replace? Quote
Lepew Posted June 20, 2004 Report Posted June 20, 2004 Inspect everything, have the crank checked, trued and welded and replace all the seals. Just a few suggestions. Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted June 20, 2004 Report Posted June 20, 2004 dont cheap out, if something looks worn or shitty replace it, belive me in the long run its worth it, and get new gaskets all around to, no need to half ass it, like so many people seem to be doing these days Quote
1998_Banshee_Racer Posted June 20, 2004 Report Posted June 20, 2004 Like these people said take your time and do it right because just doing it once is horrible but just imagine taking the engine apart again just because you screwed around because you wanted to put it together fast lol.I just took my case apart for the first time yesterday fairly easy but I had to take out the breaker bar out so I could get the screw on the flywheel off so I could put the puller on.Ask me if ya need anyhelp im sure I could get ya goin again. racer Posted June 21, 2004 Author Report Posted June 21, 2004 thanx guys, but im sure the crank's fine its a hotrods. who the hell doesnt replace all the gaskets? oh well later Quote
Blacksmith Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 The answer to your question is no. Other than doing good wrench work there are no sqecific parts that need to be replaced just because the cases are apart. Quote
