94BansheeRider Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 I have a couple of pints of Klotz racing oil and was wondering what the correct process is to switch from Maxxim 927 to the Klotz without any problems with the different brand/type. Should I burn up as much of the other fuel as I can then drain the carbs to do the switch? Any help would be appreciated, thanks. Quote
Holyman Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Yep run as much of the old stuff or use it in the Lawnboy and then drain the carbs and use the new stuff. Quote

Holyman Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 That's the best way to do it. Most guys just dump in the new stuff and ride but some premixes do not mix with others and will actually gel the oil making it almost straight gas. NOT GOOD So for the sake of a few extra minutes doing the draining, it's worth it. Quote

Drain the tank, I just usally drain the carbs by letting it idle untill it cuts out....Close enough for me... Quote
