Nighty Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 I searched and searched but i cant find the topic anymore. Its the one topic where boonman gives some sizes of stock flywheels VS lightend flywheel. I did found one topic stating to shave .185" (4,75mm) of the Outside diameter. Anyone still have the pictures and sizes? Quote
boonman Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 4.840" O.D. And don't cut the timing tabs off. You can turn the center hub up to the rivits, and the resulting O.D. is 2.800". Quote
Nighty Posted June 18, 2004 Author Report Posted June 18, 2004 ! found it! Sorry http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...o\.d\. Quote
Holyman Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Yeah I'd like to know Boonman and Ron's emails. I have a couple guys that are thinking of getting flywheels lightened. Quote

Nighty Posted June 19, 2004 Author Report Posted June 19, 2004 Any experience with ricky stator flywheels? I have mine off now its outside diameter is 12.9 cm If i would shave off 4.5MM the result would be 12 CM i think the size should become 12.30 CM. sooo basicly.. can the ricky flywheel be treated the same as stock flywheels? thanks. I have only lightened stock Yamaha Banshee flywheels, no experience with the Ricky Stator replacements. I do not know the diameter of the magnets in the Ricky Stator flywheels, so I will not be able to lighten one without the chance of ruining it. Quote
Nighty Posted June 19, 2004 Author Report Posted June 19, 2004 Hmm thanks. I'll find out today.. Quote
cdw Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 Any specs on hp gains or rpm from lightning your flywheel? Quote
boonman Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 No HP gains. But the gain is well worth it. Ask ANYONE who has their flywheel lightened. They will tell you. You want it!!!!! Quote
Oilsmoke Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 A lighter Mass flywheel will rev'up quicker, thats the Gian. So you do feel it. Think like a horny rabbit, He can get the job done faster. Quote
Nighty Posted June 22, 2004 Author Report Posted June 22, 2004 and the result is: ricky stator == error. stock seems o.k but was fucked up much earlier this year gonna use the stock as tempfix while i order a new flywheel somewhere.. the ricky stator CANNOT be shaved 3MM... the stock is shaved 4.75MM and here i was thinking to be on the save side.. DirtRider Posted June 22, 2004 Report Posted June 22, 2004 how far do you have to stay away from the timming tabs? you stay about.03 or just rub up against them? it almost looks in that pict that you shaved right up against it. and did you say you shaved it down to 4.75 inches? and lastly, can you water based oil that runs all over the fly wheel or will that ruin it? no oil, oil in certain places? definatly shaving more off these things than i origanaly thought.
