What can make my banshee feel like the chain is jumping a tooth on the sprockets when accelerating hard in first gear? I am fairly sure the chain is not slipping as it and the sprockets are new and tension is correct.

if its jumping teeth youll notice a popping noise. is it popping? if you have the chain at the right tightness then you should be fine there. its gotta be your clutch. how old is the machine? whens the last time you did anything to it? id say order a clutch from rockymountain atv for like 65 bucks and throw it in. i bet youll notice a big difference.

Just double check the rear teeth. See if they are bent forward. Sometimes if you had the chain to loose or the axle not aligned straight, they'll bend on the first ride.
