you have to pull the clutch cover and take the clutch pressure plate off and pull the rod out that runs through the gear shaft to that lever. if you dont do that you will NEVER get that lever out.

The best $25 you can spend is the CLYMER REPAIR MANUAL for the 87'-2003 banshees. You will not be sorry you spent the money. It explains it in the manual. Sorry, I'm at work and I don't have my book with me or I would look it up for you.

Can anyone tell me how to take out that Rod?

From what I remember, you drain your oil, take off the clutch over, remove the 6 bolts holding the pressure plate and springs on, once you remove that, the ball, rod, and other ball should come out. You might have to tip your bike, but if you have a magnetic screw driver it would help.

its called a clutch release lever.

trmove the left han carb

loosen the cable so you can get the most slack from the cable at the handlebars.

remove the clutch cover

loosen the adjuster lock nut and turn it 1-2 turns counter clockwise with phillips screw driver

disconnect the clutch cable at the release lever.

remove the bolts and brackets holding the lever to the case, and pull out the relese lever.
