roosthrower Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 I think it is about that time for ball joint replacement. I was jumping my shee yesterday and the bottom left ball joint slipped out of the ball joint housing when I landed. My top left a-arm got bent where it mounts to the spindle too since there was no suspension action. I figure that I should replace all of the ball joints on my front suspension. Where can I find some stock ball joints for my a-arms? Thanks. Quote
Holyman Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 They come free with new A arms. You can't replace just the ball joint on the A arm Quote
roosthrower Posted May 16, 2004 Author Report Posted May 16, 2004 what about the ones on the spindle? the ones on the spindle are the ones I need to replace. Quote
Holyman Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 The ball joints are welded into the A arms and cannot be removed. You will need new A arms. The tie rod ends can easily be replaced. If this doesn't answer it for you, post a pic of what broke. Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 yup, stocker arms cant be fixed, there welded togehter, the ball joints can be fixed thou, etiher check ebay for some cheap stock earms, or if u got some money go for some extended arms, thenn you can fix the ball joints when they break, its a more stable ride, and they make the ride better Quote
roosthrower Posted May 16, 2004 Author Report Posted May 16, 2004 thanks for the replies. I guess I'll invest in some plus two a-arms and shocks. no port work then. Quote
Cotton eyed Joe Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 This is one of Yamaha's greatest money making schemes. You also can't get the ball joint boots, or ball joint boot retaining clips from what I've heard. But they do come free (Like Holyman said) with every set of NEW a-arms purchased. Quote
. Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 If you wanna go the cheap route, you could just go looking for a cheap set on ebay. Quote
