Stock Stator And New Lights?

hey guys, i'm planning on putting small automobile driving lights on the front and the lights come with 55 watt halogen bulbs so i was wondering if i will harm anything in the electrical system by running these lights with the stock stator? i know that the lights won't be as bright as they could be but i'm not concerned with the brightness because i can't ride at night in the areas that i ride, i just want a different look with the new lights. when i decide if i want to get them i'll check and see if i can put 35 watt bulbs in them, i'm pretty sure that i can, that way i won't have to worry about it.
