cdcoxwell Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Just put carbs back together and on shee. Right carb has gas flowing out of drain hose. Any suggestions why. Quote
Basicorpse Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Your float inside your carb is probaly stuck. Try tapping that carb lightly with a screwdriver and see if that helps. Quote
cdcoxwell Posted May 13, 2004 Author Report Posted May 13, 2004 Thx, I guessed that is what it was. Quote
Basicorpse Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 No problem. Mine leak slightly from the overflow tubes while the bike is sitting so I just turn the petcock to the off position when I store it. I don't think there is any fix for that. My buddy has an 04 banshee with 20 hours on it and his does it as well. Quote
cdcoxwell Posted May 13, 2004 Author Report Posted May 13, 2004 I was wrong, I actually foregot that I had turn the fuel switch to off. Once I turned it back to on shee starts pouring out again. It's not dripping it is POURING. It still may be that, but if there is anything that I need to chk or how exactly I can fix the float. Please do tell. Thx Quote
MULLET~BOY Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 its the floats tap the bowl with a hammer if that dousn't work your gona have to take the bowls off and try putting em back on again Quote
MILO Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 tap lightly cd. i usually use the handle end of a screwdriver. it usually does the trick without marring up the carb. if it doesn't work, like they said, tear it apart and put it together again. if you have the carb off, gently turn it upside down and you'll be able to hear the floats moving when you turn it back, so you know they're freed up, then throw it back on. cdcoxwell Posted May 13, 2004 Author Report Posted May 13, 2004 I was hoping you wouldn't say that. I just didn't want to have to take the carb apart again. Thx guys, that is the first thing I'm going to do in the morning. I'm off for the next couple of days. Quote
cdcoxwell Posted May 13, 2004 Author Report Posted May 13, 2004 Thx again guys, I'm so pumped I think I will be abel to go to sleep tonight. Those guys told me that it would cost 1500-$2000 and I got her running for $135. Those BASTARDS. They even tried to buy her off of me for $250 to part out. They said it would cost to much to fix. Those bastards wanted her for themselves. Crooked bastards . Shame Shame Quote
