luv2ride13 Posted May 10, 2004 Report Posted May 10, 2004 Hey I am new to the banshee world. I hope you guys can help me out. Here is my problem. I was riding and my shee popped and locked up. I tore it apart and my right side piston skirt exploded to pieces. I replace both pistons and started again while Idiling( Which i am having a problem with) there was a loud clanging noise, them it just died. I tore it apart again and the top of the right side piston was jacked up as well as the head. I am thinking the crank, but not sure what crank to get and also need pistons, as well as a head.. Need some help with what to go with? Please help Quote
reas11 Posted May 10, 2004 Report Posted May 10, 2004 aight man slow down .. it's easy to get caught up .. first decide what piston u want . wiseco , vitos there are a few others depending on your mods u can choose the best setup u need. wiseco is a solid choice though .u cant go wrong there.ebay is the best place to find a topend kit . get your cylinders bored, depending on your bore size will determine what size piston u will need. if u need a new crank i would reccomend tdr racing they have excellent customer service and will answer all of your questions .. if u need an aftermarket head and or domes contact dlnoss on this site he will give u a 10 % discount just for being a member here he can help u with all your needs for the head . i will almost bet money that the sound u heard was a crank bearing..i would split the cases and check all the bearings. i'm sure u will find one of the bearings to be bad if this is the case u don't neccessarily need a new crank just get the bearing pressed off at a machine shop and order the new crank bearing,and have the machine shop press the new bearing on . another thing to consider is your crank to be true and welded if it is not. along the way of making your bike faster this mod is almost a must. u will find if u increase the hp, without a welded crank the crank will start to seperate after time this happens. so if u plan on going with more mods as most banshee owners do i would have it welded.. frocashmoney24 Posted May 11, 2004 Report Posted May 11, 2004 after ur piston blew up did u take apart the bottom end and flush it out, sounds like you maybe have gotten a hunk of it back upt o the top end and bounce around for awhile, or a fuckin bearing, def split the cases, check all bearings, clean it out, new crank maybe if needed, true and weld it, new topend on ebay, they are goin cheap, and like dlnoss like reas said, Quote
