Having My Rear Shock Rebuilt

I found a local shopt that will rebuild my stock rear shock for about $80. Is this a fair price? Are there any tricks to pulling this off or is it pretty simple. I am currently out of town so I can't look at my shee until the weekend...just wondering how much work goes in to pulling the rear shock off.

That is a fair price. The rear shock is simple to remove, jack the rear end up and loosen top shock bolt, bottom shock bolt, and bolt connecting link to swingarm. Then remove the link bolt, then bottom bolt, and then top bolt.

Having something to prop the rear end up on at the height that the shock is naturally uncompressed is the key. Then you just pull the two bolts, and one of the lower link bolts like BdBanshee mentioned and pop it out. I used 2 5-gallon pails and some thin wood pieces to shim it up to the correct height when putting my new one in.
