Old chain is long...broke in the sand never to be found again. Specs call for a 520. Thanks

I am putting a new chain on my banshee...should be simple enough but I must be missing something. I have it adjusted all the way back and my new chain in waaaaayyyyy too long. The chain is a 520 and is at least 12 to 15 links too long. I am sure I have it threaded on the correct way, this isn't rocket science......am I missing something. All I can think of is the chain I got is mislabled. Yes, I am running the stock sprockets... Any Ideas of what I am doing wrong??? Thanks!!!

My motor was built by White Knuckle Racing in Oregon. They specialize in Banshee's and it has been bullet proof. It was ported with a full Race port for the sand. So you are probably right about the narrow band. I am running toomey t-5's. I am wondering if V-force reeds would help??

I am currently running the Toomey T-5's..full race port

I own a 2001 Banshee with several mods including a 5mm stroker. It dyno's out at 73 HP and runs really strong as long as you can keep it in the power. I ride mainly sand and ride with 2 other banshee's that are just piped, jetted & run k&n clamp ons. As expected I am faster than both of them but my bike is so much harder to ride. When I jump on one of their quads it is so easy to stay in the power band....start bogging down drop a gear and you are off. On mine I am constantly fanning the clutch and down shifting to stay in the power. It almost feels like my top end is bad but compression is good and jetting is spot on. The problem is worse the hotter she gets. I am wondering if it could be my TORS system giving me problems? Thought maybe clutch but doesn't feel like it is slipping...just really tough to keep in the power. I added a 13 tooth sprocket hoping that would help but no change. Sorry for the long post. I just thought with so much more power than stock it would be a little easier to stay in the power. Any ideas? Thanks!!

I recently blew out one of my stock front shocks and desperately need one. I am planning on putting on new a-arms, elka shocks, axle and brake lines in the coming months but don't have the cash to do it now. I am closing on my new house in 2 weeks and with x-mas and all....you get the picture. We are planning a big ride over new years weekend and I just need something to get me by. I am happy to pay for a descent shock, I just don't want to dump a ton of money into something that will be only used for 1 trip. If anyone has 1 stock banshee shock I would be glad to work a deal on it and of course pay for shipping etc. Thanks!

5mm stroker...something not right.. please help

I am running the stock carbs but they have been taper bored. Porting was also done by white knuckle at the time of the stroker install. I am still running the stock reeds but he modified them. I am going to add the V-force reeds in the coming weeks in hopes of helping the bottom end out a bit. Any other suggestions?? -
I have a 2001 Banshee with considerable mods done to it including a 5mm stroker. The engine was professionally built by white knuckle racing and has been rock solid. My problem is I have absolutely NO bottom end. I know with the banshee I shouldn't expect much Torque but my buddies banshee that is simply piped and jetted is much easier to ride than mine. Once my Shee warms up I really have to work the clutch to stay in the power. I jump on my buddies and one slip of the clutch and the power is right there. Don't get me wrong when we race I blow him away but only in a straight line. I recently had it dyno tuned and was impressed with the numbers....73hp..just NO and I mean NO bottom end. Any suggestions????

I found a local shopt that will rebuild my stock rear shock for about $80. Is this a fair price? Are there any tricks to pulling this off or is it pretty simple. I am currently out of town so I can't look at my shee until the weekend...just wondering how much work goes in to pulling the rear shock off.

The stock front shocks finally went on my shee so I guess it is time to spend some $$$. I would love to get away with spending under $500 for front shocks. I ride mainly sand and dessert. The Dessert riding is pretty rough sometimes and as you all know the front stock suspension is total crap. Any suggestions on what to purchase.
