BASHOR Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 Have banshee engine in raptor frame. Running PWR raptor radiator and D&D head. Was going to weld bung into radiator for bleeder from head but not sure if I need it. Any info greatly appreciated!! Quote
Holyman Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 You need the bleeder in th top of the anshee head otherwise there's an air bubble up there instead of water. So no coolant Quote

ledofthezep Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 I wouldn't plug it myself...better to have some fluid up there rather than steam! Quote
BenBB Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 I do think you need it, not sure if it's a "hot spot" or what but I would keep that line...and show us some pics when it's done!! Quote
Holyman Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 This ain't the best pic but you can see that in the stock position the enginetilts forward and the head is at an angle leaving an air bubble at the top of the head where the bleeder line is installed. Unless there is a fast flowing, high volume of water, the air bubble will stay there. This will not provide adequate cooling. I would strongly suggest that you make a provision for the bleeder line to function as it was designed unless the engine is installed so the head is horizontal. Quote
Aussie Quad Racer Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 use a rubber cap to block it off thgen you can remove it to bleed air from the engine Quote
