banshee_kid350 Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 I am putting my jugs back on after they just got bored and the guy at the machine shop said I wouldnt need new base gaskets because they still looked good. Is that true can I reuse a gasket if it's not torn or ripped? Also should I put any kind of silicone on with the gasket or just stick them on with only the gasket? thanks Quote
reas11 Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 i really wouldn't chance it with the base gasket, say it doesnt work right now u have an air leak .. it really isn't worth it i would opt to buy another one .. Quote
sweetshee4312 Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 im onna be doing all my gaskets soon, someone said use ther eg gasket, and also put some silicoe on there two to get a better seal and make sure its 100% Quote
Meat Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 no silicone !!!! even with the proper base gasket, dont add any silicone to it. Do it right or dont do it at all. Quote
jeepman380 Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 I would just go ahead and buy a brand new gasket. You get all that work done...it's just cheap insurance. Quote
Rescuejeff Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 Please save yourself some grief in the future, put new ones on. other wise Quote
boonman Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 Holy shit. Your going to risk an air leak and possible top end failure over a $20 top end gaskt set? Hop on Ebay, and order yourself up a gasket set..... PLease!!! Quote
