boonman Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 and shave the flywheel This MUST be done by a knowledgable professional. Otherwise, your flywheel will be toast. And you will be and Quote

stogy3 Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 I was just about to ask the same questions. But I cannot run after market pipes where I live if I want to ride the state trails. PD patrols them and are very strict on pipes. What can I do? Quote
boonman Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 You can run a Toomey Hush kit. (If you have toomey pipes) You can run Turbine Core II silencers with your FMF and some other pipes. Or, you can adapt a Cobra Sparky to whatever silencer you end up getting and your god to go. The Cobra is a universal spark arrestor that clamps on the end of the silencer. I suggest the Hush kit or the Turbine Core II. I hate my CObra Sparkys...... Quote
stogy3 Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 Thanks. So these systems are legal?? I thought I heard the cop in the woods say if it is not a stock exhaust it can't go in the state trails. So how do I prove to this person that these pipes are OK? Or is he just supposed to know? Sorry for these queston the last time I rode you didn't have to worry about this crap!! Quote
boonman Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 The spark arrestor equipped will have a USFS (United States Forest Service) stamp and number on them. That is all they can bitch about. Unless there is a noise ordinance. But, in order for them to cite you (write you a ticket) they have to be able to measure the noise level in db..... Most cops won't have that type of equipment on them...... As long as you have a spark arrestor, you should be all god.... Quote
baldwinville Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 too true the first mod to any shee should be pipes and a new high flow filter ans rejet that sucka to run right. if you dont think it runs right use the choke trick to see if it is or not. Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 (edited) its a way to check your jetting. Not the most acurate. If you run wide open and pull the choke and the shee runs better then your jetting is lean. It should bog. I think thats pretty much it. Edited May 3, 2004 by 2004LEBanshee Quote

Hello I was reading your message when you said that a Vitos +4 Degree Key would be better for the woods than a +7 why is this..........? what do they do.... Quote
boonman Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 It advances the timing. +7 for a trail bike is way too much advance........ Quote
