KRMit Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I've got a 35 on it's way to me. I think the 38 is probably going to be a little large for your setup. You'd probably need a pretty heavily modded motor for the 38 to pull harder than a 35. I'm just going on things I've heard from people here and people I know, but they all seem pretty consistent. It sounds like the 35 is just right for your setup. Quote
cheezehead Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I'm running a 38 myself never really ran the 35 much couldn't really tell the diff from the 35 to 38 in the bottom end just know that my mid to top is mental Quote
sredish Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I also run a 35. I wouldn't go any bigger than that unless you have some good porting and/or a stroker kit. 35 is plenty for a more-or-less stock motor, the overbore won't make much difference. In fact, depending on what your looking for in the performance, the 33mm is said to have better response than the 35 with a stock motor. I have plans on some porting and maybe a 409 sleeve kit, so I opted for the 35mm. Also, when I get the kit together and installed, I will be trying a 38mm to see how I like it. The bigger the carb gets, it will move your powerband a little farther upward in the rpms. For instance, with the 33mm, the power will come on a little sooner than the 35mm, and I would the same for the 35 and the 38. Good luck with your decision and let us know how you end up. Scott Quote
