I fought in Iraq for a a full year. (feb 03 - feb 04) I fought and feared for my life next to blacks,mexicans, asian, japaneese, whites, etc.., but we were all americans. The most hurtful thing was crying for my fellow soldier and friend, a black man. Ive never lost anyone I was close to before, not in death. Spc. Maurice Johnson, rest in peace, we love you. He will not be forgotten.

What unit were you with? The only other peeps I know that were there for the long haul was 101st and units from Germany namely 158th avn. and their respected counterparts. Everybody else punked out early. Execpt 3rd AD..they were there long before the war began and got turned around when they were at port to go back. But they left around aug-sept timeframe.

And, keep in mind, the 101st was only back from afghanistan for a few months. My brother was in 101st in afghanistan for round 1.

The 101st as a whole didn't deploy to afganistan. But I'll tell you this, 7-101 got fucked royaly. Like you said not two weeks back from Afganistan, they had to turn around and deploy to Iraq. They kept a sign in front of their encampent with the number of days deployed..It was at 495 before they were told they had to remove it. Least that was the number on it the last time I saw it.

I just realized I said a few months...lol. Yes, it sucked. Those guys had it rough. Didn't have time to get straight before they were off again. That's the unit my brother was in. All his soldiers got screwed. Funny thing is, they'd do it again !!!!!!!

my sister in las brother just got back, like a month ago, said it was the worst year of his life, i respect everyone that fought, i dont know why people cant support our troops and rag on bush, we voted him in, we shoulda bck him up, just cause we have to put up alittle fight in iraqi everyone says hes wrong, when we went in, and after sept 11 we wanted to kick ass, and now since some soldiers died RIP in war, we want to stop,

my best friend just got back, he was with the 105 military police. i was in the army 3-9 invantry division but the only combat i was in was the la riots back in 92? we all owe those soilders a great big thanks for doing what there are doing FIGHTING FOR OUR FREEDOM!!!! THANKS!!

nah, I know of a Maurice Johnson, but Maurice was his middle name and John his first. Found out he's a different rank and thats an army rank, not a military rank which he is in.

Well that would be fine but it isn't typed that way. I grew up in a military family and traveled all over the place and when you go to dods schools you are mixed with all kinds of people. Racism is a bad word.
