BdBanshee Posted November 21, 2002 Report Posted November 21, 2002 What about the Durablue Hammerforce skid plate? Quote
Meat Posted November 21, 2002 Author Report Posted November 21, 2002 Hey ron is that your skid plate ?? If so, how do you like it. Quote
BdBanshee Posted November 21, 2002 Report Posted November 21, 2002 Yea, it is mine. So far it has worked great. I mostly just dune anymore so maybe someone that has one that rides in rocky terrain could tell you how well they hold up there as well. Quote
jgbailey57 Posted November 21, 2002 Report Posted November 21, 2002 I've got an Armadillo and it really takes a beating. I ride with alot of big rocks and it is holding up fine. My last trip to Chadwick I thought I completely destroyed my skid plate but it just had nicks and scratches. I was impressed. Quote
Meat Posted November 22, 2002 Author Report Posted November 22, 2002 jgbailey57, does the Armadillo skidplate cover the rear shock linkage ?? Quote
jgbailey57 Posted November 22, 2002 Report Posted November 22, 2002 Unfortunately no, the Armadillo doesn't protect the linkage. I don't recall seeing any major scratches on my linkage though. Quote
tbcustomz Posted November 22, 2002 Report Posted November 22, 2002 I would get the prm. I currently have the dg baja and I wouldnt buy it again. I have had to straighten it a few times and it has no protection for the linkage. Quote
AZBanshee Posted November 22, 2002 Report Posted November 22, 2002 I've owned most of those skids, I'd recommend the Armadillo, or the Stainless one from Pro-Tect if you don't mind the extra weight. Pro-Tect here: http://www.protectfabrications.com/yamaha.htm Oh Yeah, that Dura-Blue POS lasted exactly one fawkin ride. Might as well bolt on some Tupperware! later Eric Quote
