nater006 Posted April 7, 2004 Report Posted April 7, 2004 The trick to that is getting the jaws to touch each side of the bolt just as far before you can snap the vice grip handles closed as possible. That gives you the final Grip Of Death on the bolt. Quote
BrokeStonedBiker Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 what you should do it got to sears and buy some 'easy outs' what you do is drill a whole right in the middle of the screw about 1/8 the way in. be sure to save some meat if this dont work and you have to grind the head and use vise grips to take it out. (((((((((Another option.. you can pop the heads off with a hammer and cold chisel. Then when you pull the cover off, there's usually a good 3/8-5/8" of thread or shank sticking out that you can grab with channellocks or vice grips and unthread. I did this to a few of the cover bolts on my clutch cover (stupid phillips heads!) and then off to the hardware store for replacements. )))))))))) you load it up with WD40 yes it will peatrate the screw a little just give it a day or so. the easy ouit is like a backwards drill bit. but it doesnt really cut it will cut into the peice and only go so far before the metal is too think to cut. make sure your drill is all charged up you might need some tourque. if that fails do whats in the (((((((( )))))))))))) Quote
