How often should i repack my t5 silencers on my banshee? do they actually need to done? i dont know the last time they where done, and i dont know if it effects performance or not! thanks in advance

It effects the noise level and I think hurts top-end-not hard to do-unscrew small bolts-pull inserts out-wrap with new packing material-shove bac in

the packing material i have is not the same as the toomey material. does that mather?

stuff it in? or just wrap around the core lightly?

Actually, to re-pack T-5 silencers you will have to have a good set of snap-ring plyers to get the back of the silencer off.

The packing does not have to be anything specific, just don't be cheap; put the good stuff in there. I think my packing was made by moose. Your dealer can tell you which packing they sell is the better one.

I left the core in the silencer and kinda wrapped/stuffed the packing around the bottom of the core and worked my way up. It doesn't have to be packed in there rock solid, just nice and snug and pack it all the way to the top.

Hope this helps! :)

Well, the tighter you pack it, the better it feels..wait...I mean, you want to pull the core out to ensure a nice uniform wrap. If it's not packed right, it won't last long. You'll blow out packing material too soon..plus with AMA 104 Db limit..you want to make shure you got the best pack job you can. I use Moose packing simply because it's easiest to find.

Repack lightly, cut to fit the core, and tape in place. Use masking tape as it will just burn off. Make sure you lube the O-rings on toomey's. I repack mine every 2-3months.

i pulled my out after washing my bike and accidently sprayed water in them adn caused them to rot out.

i bought fmf packing, it worked good. i cut the material about 1/2 in shorter then the rod with the holes in it. and spun the material around it till i was hard to shove in the silencer. probably too tight but works

by the way the crap is very itchy. very
