Flyin_Shee Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 1. What are the best cheapest extended A-arms? I'm looking at around +2+1. 2. What is the best extended axle? Would a +4 go good with +2 arms? 3. Which swingarm would you recommend for dragging? I'm guessing around +1/+2. I'm not running a highly powered banshee so flipping over backwards isn't worrying me right now. 4. I'm looking at getting a +4 mm Wiesco stroker kit, what is all involved in installing it? I saw that you need to get a special stroker piston from Wiesco, how much would that cost, and would I want to go overbore or would the stroker add enough power? 5. I'm interested in getting a NOSS cool head with 21cc domes so I don't need to go to race mix or race gas. I'm located in Western Wisconsin and elevation is around 500-1000ft I believe, would 21cc domes be good? 6. Would a Trinity 2:1 33mm carb be good or should I go for the 35mm? 7. What tires would you recommend for hardpacked dirt dragging? I'm thinking about Kenda Klaws because they are cheap and have stiff tread. I think that should do it for questions...I'm home sick from school today and decided I wanted to start modding out my Banshee instead of my 400ex. Also are there any other mods that anyone thinks I should look into? Would all these mods make it into a killer dragger? Oh also what gearing should I go with? It's about time to replace my chain and sprockets and I'm thinking about going up a sprocket or staying at stock. I also have FMF Pipes and silencers and Wiseco Pro-Lite pistons in with a HotRod crankshaft in and I want to make it a bit faster Thanks in advance. -Neal Quote
nater006 Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 I can answer a couple of those! Quicksand motorsports offers really nice +2+1 a-arms for a great price. Haven't heard a single negative thing about them. As soon as my tranny rebuild is done, that's my next upcoming mod. You can get really similar ones from LSR but they cost more. The quicksand ones look just as nice, IMHO. If you're not on a budget.. the LSR or Roll Design ones are spiffy. If you're getting a +4 stroker kit, don't do the 2-into-1 carb. That stroker is going to require a bit of fuel and I doubt the 2-into-1 setup is going to give it quite what it needs. Also, that +4 stroker is going to require a stroker crank, not just a piston kit. So you'll end up pulling the engine and cracking the case to install the new crank. Quote
bansheelover Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 21cc domes will do great, im at around 700ft and im runnin 21cc domes and they work great, All you gotta do is run high octane gas in your premix and your set.If you got any other questions about the head or domes, just PM dlnoss , and he'll set ya up right Quote

I guess I'll stay away from the single carb mod, what size do you think I should run? I've already had my case opened before to put in my HotRod crank after my stock one fried. Quote

If your serious about going stroker, you should probably talk to Jim or one of the other builders on this board. They offer packages of all the necessary parts at a good price, cheaper than if you brought them all separate. I got Jim to build me one and his package included the crank, pistons, porting, noss head and a lot of other stuff. Quote

MULLET~BOY Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 quicksand motorsports for aarms and swing arms lsr has no chance against quicksand the welds on the quicksand stuff are perfect if you look at a lsr product the welds look like shit compaired to quicksands not to mention they cost a shit load more if your building a stroker and are gona be dragg racing i would go with a +4 swing arm they work really well on 4mm strokers Quote
XTShee Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 I got Jim to build me one and his package included the crank, pistons, porting, noss head and a lot of other stuff. How much did it cost you? His price varies on what you want to get. I got a lot of other stuff like vforce reeds, Barnett clutch, timing plate etc etc. He also re-sleeved my cylinders with bigbore sleeves and lightened my flywheel so my price is probably not the best to go off. Give him a PM with what you are looking at doing, he will most probably give you a quote. His screen same is PassionRE I will be running mine for the first time this weekend so I cant tell you how it runs yet but here is a link to a review one of the other guys with his engine wrote http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18973 Quote
