ranshee Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 Was just wondering how to wet sand? I am getting to my final sanding coat on my crank case. My guess would be to use some water and really fine sand paper. But how much water. Anybody have any hints? Quote

Ranshee, the purpose of wet sanding, is to unclog the sand paper so you don't get a "wad" of aluminum dust breaking loose from the paper, and scratching the aluminum deeply. You want enough water to be able to keep the paper clear. It also helps with the longevity of the sand paper so you don't go through 1000 sheets of it. Quote
