it has been said that 2 strokes are fading out because they pollute the envirnment

now

what is the pollution percentage for 2 strokes

what is the pollution percentage for 4 strokes

is there really a big difference between the two, in terms of pollution, or whatever you want to call it, the environment thing

im not sure exactly how it is measured, but its because 2-strokes burn oil and produce larger amounts of something. im sure somebody else can explain this better, im no scientist as you can tell. but the hippies will get their way :yank: its gonna suck now because they are gonna stop making banshees and snowmobiles weed wackers and whatever else. those people think they own the planet or something

:yank: Hey,

It becuse those grass skirt wearing Mother Fu#%ers are idiots.

Maybee they should take off the road all the cars prior to 1988 for example...and the Government should encourage the purchase of economical cars with subsidies like in Europe.

in greece they actually pay for part of your car....if its time to be replaced.

Maybee all the heavy equipment that builds our roads and stuff should have catalytic converters and have to run as clean as the new four wheelers do. :yank:

Really..how many 4 wheelers are out there "polluting " the sky? Not nearly as many as the old as f*ck diesel backhoes puffing up clouds of black smoke. :yank:

What about the jets cruising in the atmospere? Actually jets cause a great deal of pullution and wear away the protective UV layer of the atmosphere at an increased rate. :yank:

How bout all the multi-billion dollar foundries and factories that dnt need to install "scrubbers" in their stacks till some time in the future when they were mandated back in teh 70's and early 80's. :yank:

Its a Friggen racket.....bastard lawyers and politicians geting sucked off by the green tree lobbiests. :yank:

It wont matter anyway soon.....we wont have any fuel to run our machines.

P.S. Do you really think the technology doesnt exist to make a 100mpg car or cure for disease ? Its all out there...its all about the Almighty..$

Screw people every way they can.....sick or healty....2stroke or 4 stroke...

The way I see the 4 strokes are polluting more.(cars) fix the major sources of problems first...then maybee worry about the miniscule amounts of atvs "polluting"

Gasoline 2-strokes are pretty dirty. Typically weedwackers, snowmobiles, dirtbikes, quads...require mixing oil with the gas (premix or oil injection) which dumps loads of hydrocarbons into the air...which are not good. Also, a lot of unburnt gas is passed through the cylinder and blown out of the tail pipe which is another large source of hydrocarbons.

If you look at the big picture the 2-strokes today don't even compare to the amount of pollution given off by car, trucks, heavy equipment, factories, coal burning power plants, and list can go on......

Maybee they should take off the road all the cars prior to 1988 for example...and the Government should encourage the purchase of economical cars with subsidies like in Europe.

My 1988 Silverado 4x4 is my daily driver and gets the same gas mileage as a 1998 Silverado....sure not gonna drop that off to the scrap yard. But I do understand your point...there are exceptions. This is why there are state inspections and really for the most part you don't see many '90 and prior vehicles on the road, at least where I live.

As SyNtAxx listed, there is plenty room for improvement and the tree huggers should back off the 2-strokes IMO.

Holley shit! Don't get me started! :shootself: I work for the CA D.O.T. construction dept. and have to deal with ALL the BS rules generated by the tree huggin MFers every day! Unfortunately it is my job to enforce upon the contractors building the highways many of the rules tree huggin rules :shootself::shootself::shootself: Think about this, 1 diesel semi truck burns around 1 gallon of diesel in 4 to 5 miles and thats at cruising speed on the freeway. Thats about 10 galons per hour for every semi on the road (but your also talking about a lot of our economy riding on those wheels). I burn 5 gallons of fuel in the banshee in an entire days worth of riding and that only happens every couple of weeks! Basically it doesn't even equal a drop in the bucket in the big picture if you want to sum up all the hydrocarbon polution and divide it into each of its individual contributiors.

If you really knew how many of your hard earned dollars that go to fedral and state taxes went to the enviro-bulshit waste fund it would make you sick! (need a smilie that pukes here) :flush:
