cjm02ram Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 I have a 2003 Banshee. Pc pipes and K&N filter. My jetting is 280 mains and needle and everything else is stock. It will not start for nothing kicking it. Even with choke out. Has to be pop started and then if it sits for more than 5 mins its hard to start again. What could be the problem? Quote
"thenewguy" Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 when you do get it started does it sound like its running rich? its either not gtting gas or too much gas. do you know how to adjust the carbs? or are you not really sure how to tune the carbs? Quote
Nighty Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Could be low compression. weak spark or bad/old spark plugs. mixed the oil to rich or bad quality oil. i would start with the compression. is the choke tube connected between the carbs? Quote
oldturtle Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Plugged pilot jets are very common reason for hard starting. Especially if it runs eventually. Could have been caused from sitting all winter and gas in floats goes bad and plugs pilots. Needle jets and mains are larger and will pass bad gas much easier. Quote
