Are you talking about the intake ports? A lot of builders open the intake area but don't enlarge the port very much unless it's an extreme port job. Like I always say though, every builder is different because it's like an art form of it's own!!!

i dont know..... but personally i heard it does nothing but weakins the piston

Oh, the pistons them selves... don't do it. Why weaken the piston and make it off balance? You won't gain enough to make the motor that un-realiable.

Fixitrod is correct... if your motor builder wanted them opened up... he would have. On top of that. Done wrong you will DRASTICLY cut the life of your pistons. You could actually fracture the pistons and cause pre-mature and catastrophic failure. Raising or lowering the windows could actually hurt performance if done wrong also. Leave that to your motor builder to decide

It increases the amount of time the fuel can enter. The pison will be open to the fuel channel longer if the actual port is larger. It's more reliable to cut the cylinder port than the piston port.
