jeffro189 Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 i am about to port my cyclinder with the race logic sport kit and i was wondering what type of dremmel bits to use to port the cyclinders out with. i heard to use grinding burs, and then sanding drums to clean it up. if so for the grinding burs what ones do i buy, and how many? thank you for your time. thanx Quote
Hiram Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 Egg shaped is the best, you need one double cross cut for the metal sleeve and then you need a non-foruos aluminum(sp) one for cutting the rest leading into the sleeve. Quote
erbilabuc Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 I just used some 1/4 and 3/8 drum sanding discs. I tried all of the ones mentioned above but the sanding drums worked the best and fastest. Quote
jeffro189 Posted March 18, 2004 Author Report Posted March 18, 2004 doesnt the sanding drums get used up fast, and did you use the to hog out the bulk of the material, or just to clean it up? Quote
erbilabuc Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 doesnt the sanding drums get used up fast, and did you use the to hog out the bulk of the material, or just to clean it up? you have to get the "gator" brand sanding drums, the dremel ones wear out kind of fast. I used it for all around, makes quicker work. Quote
snowprophet1 Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 The race logic templates work great. I also matched the base of my cylinders to the crankcase. You have to tear 'er down a lot farther to do that, but mine was apart anyways, so I just had to do it! Make sure you raise your transfers, which they say is optional, but I did and it is noticably stronger! I raced the same year banshee w/everything else set up identical, pipes, K&N, etc, except for the porting, and mine was definately stronger. You'll love it. Quote
