If the axle has excessive end play start by making sure your lock nut is tight. If you end up replacing the bearings a press will help.

explain to me about pivot bearings..never heard of em

those are the bearings that go in the swing arm where it attaches to the frame at the back of the motor.

hey guys i noticed when i take the rear wheels theres a decent amount of left and right play.i was wondering if this is normal?if not do you need a hydraulic press to put the bearings back in?...i wanna start updating my banshee slowly,i wanna work on the suspension first.

Is the axle moving in the carrier, or is the whole axle/swingarm unit moving?

The bearings in the carrier are easy to get out and even easier to get back in. I use a rubber mallet type hammer to gently coerce them in. They go right in, no prob.
