Theron Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 Hi everyone, I bought my banshee last year, it is a 2003. I am thinking about what kind of mods to do with it. All that I have done so far is all skidplates. I know that this creates a little more weight but since I paid 6000 for it, I thought that they were a good place to start. I do mostly woods riding I have raced before but dont know if I have the time to race the banshee or not. I dont know what good combinations would be good for woods riding. Any replies would be appreciated. Thanks Quote
Big Blue Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 pipes and air filter would be a good start. Quote
sredish Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 pipes and air filter would be a good start. yes, pipes would is a necessary first mod. They are the very base of the power on your banshee, and the stockers only limit you. While unleashing lots of power, any other mods will not be to their full potential without them. Good midrange pipes like FMF Fatties are great economical pipes. Paul Turner mids are excellent and a little more expensive. Either of those will be great woods/trail pipes that you can open up when wanted and take additional mods very well. As far as airfilter, the Toomey 2into1 air setup is pretty darn nice and works great. After that, only the money is the factor limiting what you can do. You'll have a different machine after just the pipes. The next step might be a Trinity or Graydon single carb kit. This will help pull even more power from the midrange all the way through the high rpms, further boosting the trail and woods ability. Next, maybe some light porting. Quote

locogato11283 Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 i always liked my toomey t5's. get an aftermarket intake setup, rejet and ride. you should decide first whether you plan to go a long way with the mods. if you plan on porting sometime down the road then id plan now for pipes and such. just a thought to keep in mind. bbluebanshee Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 if you are thinking about racing, then engine mods will do you good, but you will also need suspension. the more power you have the harder it is going to be to control. just my .02 cents Quote
Theron Posted March 9, 2004 Author Report Posted March 9, 2004 I appreciate the responses, you guys are a big help. Where do you guys usually buy your parts from, I usually go to Dennis Kirk, how do the prices seem to be with everybody else?? I think that I will start with some pipes and airfilter, get it jetted and an intake setup. But that stuff only comes with extra money. You guys know how that is. I will probably ride it like that for a little while before I do any more mods to it. Thanks Quote
