Jeffro Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 My kickstart lever is a serious pain to get to open so I can kick it. Is there something I can do to this thing to make it open easier? Thanks. Quote
pimp559 Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 My does it too. I just spray some WD40 on it once in a while. You could also grease it. Quote
Blacksmith Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Go to your local dealer and get a new o-ring, spring, and ball. Then take the kicker apart, clean the parts, and put it back together with plenty of high quality grease. You will be good to go for about $5. Quote
bkabina Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Get ahold of holyman here on the site.He rebuilds them.I don't know what he charges but I do know everyones he has done so far love it.I'd say it's worth it what ever it is. Quote
sredish Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 I just spray some WD40 on it once in a while. You could also grease it. WD40 is a great temporary spray. But after a little while, it will promote moisture and cause things to tighten. The very best spray to use as a long term lube is Silicone Spray Lube. The kind I use is made by Loctite. It keeps moisture out and lube in. I have a construction company and often times, people will call me regarding the barns i build and say they can't open the feed doors (it's a piano hinge). Well, they've been spraying WD40 in them and they loosen, but after a day or so, they become damn near unmovable, because moisture has gotten in there and locked it up. I will spray the silicone lube and they'll be perfect forever. I give them the spray bottle I take there so they can use it later. Great stuff. Quote
MotulMonsta Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 Silicone spray lube huh? I used to use a lot of teflon lube..works great on o-ring chains. But I'll have to try this silicone stuff. Quote
Holyman Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 Spraying the ball aint gonna do it. It won't fold out because the stock ball has either a flat spot in it or has worked the retention hole too big and the ball sticks out too much. You need the Holyman rebuild Quote
Jeffro Posted March 5, 2004 Author Report Posted March 5, 2004 I guess I do. I can't have the bike down right now though so I will suffer until its too hot to ride. Just got it going and if the rain would stop I'd be out riding today.... Thanks guys. Quote
