trail rider Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Which one would win in a drag race? raptor 350 or 400ex? There is really not that big of a difference in engine size. I was kinda thinking that the raptor 350 would cause it is a 6 speed. Quote
race450 Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 We will probably know when the raptor 350 comes out. I heard it wont be out till summer of this year or next year Quote
brugal Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Are you talking stock for stock ,if so Ive seen a Raptor win ,but the guy on the Raptor knew how to ride really good not to sure about the guy in the 400. OH and the Raptor is a 5 speed not a 6... Quote
99screaminshee Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 no no this guy is talkin about the 350 raptor in a race the 400 will usually win cuz the raptor 350 is a warrior with different gay fenders and warriors r big and heavy the 6 speed tranny doesnt really have anything to do with speed it just has more and different gear ratios but if ur lookin 4 a better quad go for the yamaha in my opinions 400s r junk 11 of my friends have em and they all had more problems than my banshee has had they r garbage Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 personally id own a 400ex over a warrior. at least the 400 is a good solid platform that is rideable when stock. the warrior is heavy and has worthless suspension. of the two id prefer the 400ex anyday. Quote
brugal Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 no no this guy is talkin about the 350 raptor OH ,my bad ,thanks for clearing that up 99screamenshee.What was I thinking. Quote

Meat Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 the new raptor\warrior 350 is 30 pounds lighter than the ol' Warriors, it has a new Raptor style BSR 34mm carb, its a constant velocity carb. Alot better than the warriors old circa 1970's plain jane Minuki carb. The exhaust is reworked too, updated to a more modern design and yamaha says it "produces more HP and run quieter" than the old warriors exhaust system. All 3 shocks on the new 350 are updated units and they're not using the Warriors frame. So it should kill the Warrior in the handling dept. Electric start, handlebar mounted choke and reverse. Should make a great beginner's quad and should give the 300ex a run for its money. Id think the 400ex could prolly kick its ass in every catagory, but thats just a guess. Quote

trail rider Posted March 7, 2004 Author Report Posted March 7, 2004 wouldn't the 400ex motor be heavier than the warrior? well, maybe not cause the trans case on the 400 is smaller than the warrior's. I've never ridden a warrior, so could someone tell me if it bogs down in 6th gear like in a field with tall grass or like going up a hill on a blacktop road. Quote
