minnshee01 Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 Should I buy a power piston kit or super stock. Is there much diff between the 2. I have nothing done to the motor yet. Or should I go with the big bore kit? I do some mx riding and alot of hard pit riding. I always have it pinned. Or could anyone give me some input on another kind or set up for more power I dont want to spend a fortune but want more juice. Does a degree key add much? Any help is very appreciated. Thank you. Motoman991 Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 i think the super stock pistons add more top end power while the power pistons are more low and midrange. i'm going to be getting 1 of the 2 sets in a little bit, my engine is going to need rebuilt soon Quote
roosthrower Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 the power pistons raise compression and give you a power increase throughout the rpm range. the superstocks change the exhaust port timing slightly and mainly help out on the top end. they are to be used with stock ported motors only while the power pistons can be used with a ported motor. The superstock pistons probably make more peak power than the power pistons do but the power pistons help tame the banshees wild powerband out some and give you some extra low end grunt. I running forged power pistons and I don't have any complaints. Quote
MotulMonsta Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 I just did a rebuild with power piston and agree, they are some bad mamba jamba's!! Work great. Use the superstock with unported motors only..that's what Vito himself told me. Quote
