vmaxup Posted February 22, 2004 Report Posted February 22, 2004 dose the modified shift star work. Im going in there anyway so should I get one. Are they worth the money or are they like a boost bottle? Quote
SICK BOY Posted February 22, 2004 Report Posted February 22, 2004 The shift star mod is more then worth it.No more missed shifts and easy neutral finds.Talk to Boonman on here he does them at a great price. You send him your shift star, and in a few days you get it back moded. Quote
BdBanshee Posted February 22, 2004 Report Posted February 22, 2004 Yea, it's worth it. Makes shifting a little easier, and finding neutral better too. Quote
yamaha350 Posted February 22, 2004 Report Posted February 22, 2004 its worth it. but if you have a bench grinder you can do it yourself. i have done a few and they all work good. if you send it to me i will do it for free you pay shipping. Quote
boonman Posted February 23, 2004 Report Posted February 23, 2004 You can mod the edges with a bench grinder if you wish, BUT, you cannot do the neutral backcut with anything less than a milling machine and a carbide end mill. It's up to you. Shifting will improve when rounding the corners, but neutral will still be a PITA. Quote
yamaha350 Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 if you want me to do it let me know. i will pm you my address. Quote
bpreuss Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 hey boonman, how much do u charge? Quote
MotulMonsta Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 I can never find nutral when I need it..but it shure as hell like to show up when I'm racing. Quote
vmaxup Posted February 29, 2004 Author Report Posted February 29, 2004 I ground my own on a belt sander. Just made shure the table was square with the belt. I did grind the nuetral step with a carbide burr. It woorks great and neatral is no problem to find. Fo those wondering what this dose. It dose not mess with your placement of your gears it just lets it shift easier and find nuetral. Quote
boonman Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 hey boonman, how much do u charge? Get it to me with $25, and I'll do it, and send it back, and I pick up return shipping charge. Same day service.... Quote
