DIRTBIKEZ Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 I havent gotten to do this yet or even see it but by looking through the Clymer's it appears that there is a bearing retainer that must be removed first by either using Yamaha's SST YM-01327 or making something similar using a 30mm nut and bolt. lucky13 Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 I CHANGED MY LOWER STEERING BEARING AND SEALS LAST SUMMER YOU GOT TO POP THE TOP SEAL OUT DONT PLAN ON SAVING THE SEALS THEY ARE CHEEP ANYWAY UNDER 20 BUCKS FROM THE STEALERSHIP UNDER THE TOP SEAL THERE IS A NUT WELL KIND OF A NUT ITS LIKE A INSIDEOUT NUT THE THREADS ARE ON THE OUTSIDE AND THE PART THAT YOU GRIP WITH A TOOL IS ON THE INSIDE THE CORRECT TOOL WOULD BE A REALLY BIG ALLEN WRENCH I DID NOT HAVE A ALLEN WRENCH THAT BIG SO I FOUND A OLD BOLT WITH A HEAD ON IT THAT WAS THE EXACT SIZE THAT I NEEDED WELDED A NUT ON THE END AND SPUN IT OUT WITH A WRENCH HOPE THIS HELPED P.S WHERE DO YOU LIVE IN MAINE Quote
