This monday ill will be taring the shee down to the frame and gusseting the frame. i have pretty much NO money to spend but i can get some 3/8 inch steel plates that i want to cut up and weld them in there.

now when i put in the gussets do you just weld both sides? should i weld over other welds? and where does the shee frame crack the most?

thanks

1) gussett the steering loop. if you cut some plates to weld on the front side of them they wont interfere with anything. this will add a ton of strength to them. also underneath of them there is some really thin shit that is suppose to hold the up, i would maybe dos omething with those as well.

2) the subframe (i call it a subframe even tho it doesnt come off)is really weak especially where the grab bar bolts on. i would cut something to run along side both of them. im sure almost everyone here has had some experience with bending them and i know i welded mine up before i had my frame pced.

3) i would definetely go over all the stock welds. they must be done by a machine because they are really shitty. the welds arent even wide enough for shit. they arent burned into the steel very well. i went over almost all of my stock welds when i did mine.

I would also put a piece in to stop the steering stop from bending forward. A few full lock turns and it pushes out of the way and lets the steering stem overextend, not a good thing.
