I bought this set of wheels and tires for the shee and cant get the gold color off the wheels. I read a while back that oven cleaner takes it off but it didnt work for me. I know this has been discussed before but if you could help a brotha out I would appreciate it. How do I get the gold off these damn wheels?

find someone with a sand blaster. Blast them. Then what i did was istead of spending more time polishing them just put a sanding wheel in a drill press and move the rim around. You now have a brushed alluminum. If you dont blast them you will be sanding for ever unless you have a lathe to put them in and run sand paper against them. Ther aniodized you cant get it to just come of its impregnated in the alluminum

You used the wrong formula. Make sure it is NOT the "cold oven" formula. It doesn't work at all.

The right stuff will take the gold right off {along with your skin if you don't wear gloves :o } And DON'T get it on the paint!!!

Have you tried aircraft stripper. this stuff will get just about anything off. It is sold at most good auto parts stores. Just spray it on wait 30 min. and then hit it with a presure washer. repeat if needed.

never had a problem breaking anodizers hearts with the easy off heavy duty stuff, go get a different can and try again, then if no go, sand blast, or powder coat them like mentioned above. later
