bigtreads Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 I bought a stator and lights off ebay. the thing is I don't think I like the square lights that were part of the auction. I do like the big ass dessert racing lights like on Rick Stators web page etc. but I'm afraid that if I bite it the mega $ lights will get trashed - not to mention if you park lights of that size in front of the rad it's got to effect cooling. So what do you all recomend that puts out huge light. It's a 200 watt stator so I have to work within that range of power. Quote
Dragg-on Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 I had those big ass chrome plated banshee desert lights by PIAA, I would buy them, use 55W bulbs, they work best, stock 35w bulbs work great as well. BUY them lightS!!!! If you eat shit, worry about breaking your bones, eveything else you can replace on EBAY. Quote
Wallrat Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 Check out my avatar to see my pro comp 130's. They're 8" diameter and come with 130w bulbs but you can drop the bulb down to 100, 60, or 55 for $5. 4wheelparts carries the lights for I think $40 each. Quote
bigtreads Posted January 27, 2004 Author Report Posted January 27, 2004 do you have a bigger picture of those head lights Quote
bigtreads Posted January 27, 2004 Author Report Posted January 27, 2004 are those light's mounted in the stock location or are they on a mount like Rickey Stator makes ? Quote
Indubitably Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 4 lazerstars would be cool. Get the stock mounsting ones and the handle bar ones they rule. I gots them and love them. Quote
bigwill Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 any set mouned to handlebars work the best,I have ricky stator lights mounted this way and love them Quote
tacoking Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Bajadesigns sells some lights you might be interested in. They are a little pricey but they are the bomb if you are serious about riding. You could run either a dual or singal halogen or HID setup. The HID take less power and makes a lot more light. Check out this site lights Quote
bigtreads Posted January 27, 2004 Author Report Posted January 27, 2004 bigwill - what size are your lights on the bars - got a pic? Quote
bigtreads Posted January 27, 2004 Author Report Posted January 27, 2004 also how would 4 lazer stars compare to 2 8" 100 watt bosch driving lights?????? Quote
ikikazz Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 here are the lights i put on the shee saturday 1-24-04 i used a piece of 1/2 inch round tube and a mounting tab then welded then together and used the light stud as a block from the lights going down those are 9" hella's not blockin that much of the rediator. the mounts are pointed downwards and i make up for the down with the light adjustments. hope this helps one is 55 watts and the other is 100. and just bought a new ricky stator 200 watt stator and regulator should be here thursday. thses lights are in the stock location using the stock bolt. bigtreads Posted January 27, 2004 Author Report Posted January 27, 2004 Looks great. So do you have to get a different regulator ? I have no idea if a non stock one comes with the stator I bid on cause it isn't here yet. why did you go with a 55 and a 100 watt rather than both 100's - just so the stator isn't working so hard or lighting pattern ??? Oh ya like your avitar to Quote
ikikazz Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 ya so i am not pushing the limits and then i can still have a low and then both as a high. i am also looking to get the underlighting that justintoxicated is making so i still have a few extra watts if i wanna do something different i can. ricky stator says you can use the stock one but it could possibly fail for 20 buck extra i said give me a new one. Wallrat Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 Sorry my reply took so long but I had to get my bike back together before I could take the pictures of the mounting. Here's how its setup - keep in mind that I bought the bike this way so I have no idea how different this mount is from stockers... Oh and as a side note, I've got a buddy with the same lights that he mounted with a handlebar mount on his 250r. It looked to be your typical ricky stator or baja designs type of handlebar mount.
